B2C webshop with which we sell hundreds of kilometers of fashion fabric per year.
In 2002 we received an application from Jurriën van Drunen. He was successful on several weekly markets. And what is possible on the market must also be possible on the internet? It is almost impossible to imagine, but in 2002 the general opinion was that you do not sell fabrics through a webshop. You have to feel fabrics first, don't you? Still, we made plans together. Number 1: excellent findability!
Immediate result
The first webshop was an immediate success. In addition to excellent findability, Marktplaats proved to be a great channel to attract extra traffic to the webshop. We made tons of turnover in no time. That tasted like more, so we expanded the webshop together. The newest webshop saw the light of day in 2014, with still excellent results. The turnover grew by more than 20% thanks to the new webshop. We now sell hundreds of kilometers of fabric per year via the webshop.
Findability
For a webshop like that of the De Stoffenkraam, a cheap visit is crucial. We therefore hardly do anything with Adwords and mainly focus on 'organic findability'. With this we attract many tens of thousands of visitors per month to the webshop. If we wanted to attract that same traffic with Adwords, we would have spent at least ten thousand euros on Adwords.
From visit to purchase
The findability in Google is designed in such a way that you as a visitor land directly on a page with an offer that matches your search. For example, if you search for cotton fabric (NB: we are number 1 with 519,000 competitors), you will also immediately see cotton fabrics. With the filter you can then further filter the supply, so that you find the fabric you need.
Super fast search
The webshop is equipped with a super fast search engine. Start tapping and the search engine will give immediate results. Search results are automatically displayed based on popularity. This allows us to serve visitors who know what they are looking for at lightning speed. Obviously, this pays off, as more than half of the revenue comes from visitors who used the search engine.
Email marketing to top it off
"Your shopping cart is still waiting for you". When you, as a visitor, started your order, but did not complete it, you can just receive an e-mail in your mailbox that starts with this sentence. With this e-mail we can still entice a substantial part of the visitors to complete their order. The same applies to sending e-mails when new substances are received. Visitors can indicate for themselves what kind of substances they are interested in and then receive the new offer automatically in the mailbox.
